Portfolio Operations Specialist

We are seeking a Portfolio Operations Specialist to support our Litigation Finance Portfolio Monitoring team through legal research, case analysis, and portfolio monitoring. This role sits at the intersection of law and investing, combining paralegal expertise with analytical rigor to evaluate and track investments in litigation.

You will work closely with attorneys, investment professionals, and cross-functional teams to assess opportunities, monitor active matters, and produce clear, actionable insights. This is an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, technology-driven investment platform operating at the forefront of legal finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze legal documents, case filings, and supporting materials to inform underwriting and portfolio monitoring
  • Conduct legal, factual, and background research, including identifying analogous cases and relevant developments
  • Support due diligence efforts by evaluating counterparties, legal claims, and associated risks
  • Organize, index, and maintain case files, investment documentation, and internal records
  • Track key case developments, deadlines, and portfolio performance across active matters
  • Draft clear and concise summaries, memoranda, and internal reports on legal and investment findings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, underwriting, operations, and technology teams
  • Contribute to process improvements, workflow management, and data organization across the portfolio
  • Provide general support on special projects related to legal analysis, compliance, and investment operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Law, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience, such as: Paralegal experience at an AmLaw 200 or comparable firmLegal research, compliance, investigations, or litigation support roles
  • Proficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex legal and financial information
  • Experience reviewing legal documents and managing case-related workflows
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and document management skills
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, both written and verbally
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to financial analysis, underwriting, or investment-related work
  • Familiarity with litigation finance, credit investing, or legal risk assessment
  • Experience drafting memoranda or case summaries for decision-making purposes
