About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Vice President, Portfolio Manager to join the Portfolio Management team to support Wells Fargo's growing Industrials business. The Portfolio Manager will partner with Relationship Managers, Industry Coverage and Risk Management to oversee execution of credit related functions and portfolio support.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and oversee credit aspects of a broad portfolio of Industrials companies. VPs will have assigned portfolio relationships and also will support senior portfolio managers on large, complex borrowing relationships

  • Perform detailed credit, financial statement analysis, industry analysis and projection modeling to ensure accurate and timely monitoring, risk ratings, covenant compliance, watchlist updates, recognition of potential problems loans of leveraged credit portfolio

  • Lead coordination and execution of loan booking, closing, legal documentation, compliance requirements, and final credit memos

  • Partner with senior banker to prepare and present portfolio updates to senior leadership, risk management and coverage partners

  • Partner with Corporate Banking Relationship Management, Industry Coverage and Debt Capital Markets Bankers, and other product partners to support client coverage needs related to credit products. Lead credit analysis support and execution to grow relationships through products such as rates/fx/operating exposure for cash management. Engage with clients as needed

  • On-going coordination and partnership with Industrials Independent Risk Management related to borrower and/or portfolio needs

  • Assist with coordination and preparation for borrower/portfolio reviews and responses for internal and external exams

  • Train and mentor team Associates and Analysts

  • Responsible for adherence to all Wells Fargo credit policies and procedures. Review and interpret credit policies and procedures and incorporate requirements into credit analysis, observations and lending recommendations

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Experience in CIB Portfolio Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • CIB Portfolio Management experience, experience with Industrials sectors/subsectors (e.g. Aerospace & Defense, Capital Goods & Services, Forest Products & Packaging), merger and acquisition financing, and/or leveraged lending

  • Strong experience with training and development of junior team members; including management experience

  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment

  • Ability to navigate within a large and complex organization

  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Strong credit and technical skills

Job Expectations

  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted

  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
