Management Support Specialist

JOB LOCATION: Dahlgren, Virginia

JOB STATUS: Full Time

TRAVEL: Less than 5%

SALARY: $85,000 to $92,000

Astrion has a contingent opening for a Management Support Specialist supporting the U.S. Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), located in Dahlgren, VA. In this Management Support Specialist position, you will provide comprehensive training program administration, logistical facilities management, and technical platform coordination for the Workforce Development division. This role executes full-lifecycle event planning—from initial facility scheduling and classroom configuration to deploying online collaboration tools and resolving end-user software roles. You will serve as a primary point of contact, delivering exceptional customer service while coordinating high-impact Navy personnel events and employee development programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Three (3) years professional experience providing training program support (e.g., scheduling training, configuring classrooms, maintaining and operating audio-visual technology and classroom equipment, and printing and distributing training and other materials), administrative support, and support for special projects.
  • Skilled in facilities management for Workforce Development in support for all training and events.
  • Ability to schedule with multiple facility partners for training and event space, to ensure logistical requests are met, set up classrooms, provide IT support for audio/visual equipment to ensure connectivity, to distribute training materials, and to ensure training announcements are completed.
  • Possesses the ability to effectively use Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Waypoints Learning Management System, Total Workforce Management Services, Human Resources Port, and online reservations in support or customer needs.
  • Possesses customer service skills needed to assist customers with requests as needed.
  • Skilled in online collaboration tools needed to facilitate and support online training events.
  • Ability to establish account set up and training requirements for ERP users, ensuring users have proper roles and training to support.
  • Ability and knowledge to assist with other workforce development functions such as off-site tours and training events (e.g., SEaL to Sea, Meet the Fleet).
