Description

The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client's and associated facilities for the company.ย ย 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.ย 
  • Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.ย 
  • Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data.ย 
  • Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.ย ย ย 
  • Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.ย 
  • Inspects pool and equipment.ย 
  • Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.ย ย ย 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.ย ย 

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.ย 
  • Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools.ย ย 
  • Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.ย ย 
  • Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.ย 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.ย ย ย 
  • One year of related experience required.ย 
  • Physical Requirements:ย ย 
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.ย ย 
  • Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping.ย 
  • Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.ย
