Overview
Support manufacturing engineering and operations by analyzing production processes, maintaining manufacturing routers, and conducting time studies to improve efficiency and documentation accuracy.
Core Responsibilities
- Analyze existing production processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Document workflows, standard work instructions, and process steps clearly and accurately
- Support creation, review, and updates of manufacturing routers (BOMs, labor steps, run times, etc.)
- Conduct time studies and collect production data on the shop floor
- Assist with process validation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in:
- Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (assembly, machining, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to break down processes into clear, structured steps
- Comfortable working in a shop floor environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, basic analysis)
- Strong written communication skills for documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or experience in:
- Time studies / work measurement (MTM, stopwatch studies, etc.)
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Experience creating process documentation, SOPs, or flowcharts
- Exposure to CAD or manufacturing drawings
