Position Summary
The Election Commission Chair will supervise all elections;
Maintain uniformity in the application and operation of the Election Code;
Verify that all official candidates are qualifies to run for elected offices;
Prepare and provide instructions for the proper conduct of Elections in accordance with ASUNM Laws;
Instruct poll workers of the proper methods of performing their duties as prescribed in the Election Code;
Investigate any violation(s) of the Election Code and report the violation(s) to the Election Commission;
Prepare and furnish each polling place with sufficient ballots, forms, pencils, and other necessary materials;
Prepare and furnish printed instructions which clearly explain how voters may cast their ballots; Publicize the location and hours of operation of each official polling place;
Vote only in the event of a tie.
