Job description

Amazon Legal is seeking a talented Associate Compliance Specialist to join our Global Public Sector Legal Compliance team. This position will serve as a key contributor to the Amazon-wide public sector compliance program - supporting various requirements and contributing to innovation and efficiency across Amazon. You will support public sector matters including procurement regulations, post-government employment, political law, gift compliance, and organizational conflicts of interest across multiple jurisdictions in the U.S

and internationally.
Key job responsibilities
Support Public Sector Compliance team activities across a range of matters, including procurement regulations, post-government employment review, political law, gift compliance, and organizational conflicts of interest
Assist in identifying and implementing AI-enabled process improvements to drive efficiencies for compliance initiatives
Help draft, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal guidance documents; assist in ensuring materials remain current as regulations, policies, and business needs evolve
Support compliance filing and documentation requirements, maintaining accurate and organized records in support of program operations and audit readiness
Assist in preparing regular compliance reporting, including tracking program metrics, deadlines, and deliverables for leadership and senior team members
Help draft and send compliance communications to business partners - including FAQs, how-to guides, training materials, and program summaries - and respond to business questions with guidance from senior team members
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on trainings, projects, and compliance issues; support business teams in making communications and training more effective
Assist in ensuring regulatory guidelines are implemented and help develop plans for applying legal requirements to business operations
Identify and escalate legal issues with guidance from senior team members; support review of legal conclusions and policies prior to implementation
A day in the life
You'll start the day responding to questions and reviewing internal requests. You will help draft or update SOPs and internal guidance, and assist in preparing reporting for leadership. Throughout the day, you'll support project management responsibilities - tracking deadlines, updating documentation, and advancing compliance program workstreams - alongside research and drafting tasks

You'll collaborate closely with attorneys and cross-functional stakeholders, adapting quickly as priorities shift in a fast-paced, global environment.
