We are searching for the best talent for Mandrel Polish Operator .

Purpose: Responsible for using equipment for the assembly and processing tasks to produce finished products according to established specifications. Accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines.

You will be responsible for:

  • Operates mandrel polishing equipment to produce production tools.
  • Interprets instructions and specifications and uses to set up equipment.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment daily.
  • Assists with basic maintenance of tools or equipment and advises supervisor, shift/team leader and area technician when tools or equipment need maintenance or repairs.
  • Prepares accurate records/documentation related to quality and work in progress.
  • Troubleshoots minor production problems.
  • Performs heat treating, surface polishing and machine assembly of mandrels.
  • Picks up and delivers mandrels to the Shell Fabrication department. Track location and quantity of mandrels in production.
  • Sands mandrels on polishing machines and/or by hand.
  • Repairs existing mandrels using buffers.
  • Numbers repaired or new incoming mandrels and keep accurate records of mandrel inventory.
  • Washes, sand blasts, and inspects mandrels.
  • Monitors and responds to equipment and process issues that may lead to non-compliance.
  • Accountable for adhering to and enforcing all quality and safety guidelines. Identifies and elevates all immediate and potential quality, safety, or environmental issues (material, procedure, and process) as observed.
  • Reviews device records, follow established procedures, and prepares necessary documentation as required.
  • Must maintain good manufacturing and documentation practices in accordance to procedures outlined according to cGMPs.
  • Flexibility to cross train to other departments according to business needs.
  • Identify any mandrel defects
  • Verify mandrel ID numbers
  • Produce molded pads for production use.
  • Provide training to new employees or other team members as requested; in mandrels polishing processes with the support of the area lead.
  • Maintains an updated and current training record and adheres to training timelines.
  • Participates in Safety initiatives and programs by either joining Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or reporting unsafe practices/conditions to shift/team leader.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for process and equipment. Helps to meet daily efficiencies by focused approach to performing tasks compliantly and safely according to procedure/process.
    • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
    • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
    • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
    • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. On-the-job training provided.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

  • Basic computer skills, including Windows Operating Systems and applications or equivalent are required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures in English.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to read manufacturing procedures, drawings, and specifications.
