Job description

Reporting the the Accounting Manager of Revenue, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for posting revenue Journal Entries for month end close, Balance Sheet reconciliations, reviewing and reconciling all practices payments for ACO Flex and Financial Offers program. This person will also work across the company on any contractual review related to Financial Offers and other Health Plan contracts. This role requires an extreme attention to detail and the candidate must have a track record of generating and maintaining systems of record. The ideal candidate for this role is fluent with U.S. GAAP, demonstrates excellent critical thinking skills, is able to work diligently and accurately, and is technologically savvy.
 
We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely/work from home within the US or be based from Bethesda, MD office.
Primary Duties:
  • Prepare month-end reporting workbooks related to revenue and balance sheet accounts, including related journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records to ensure compliance with the company's policies and internal control 
  • Assist with month-end review of financial statements, preparing variance analysis and ensuring accounting activities are well supported and documented. 
  • Maintain appropriate accounting records for revenue recognition including completion of ASC 606 Analysis for new revenue contracts and/or revenue streams. 
  • Assist with external Audit requests as needed including preparation for ongoing support. 
  • Keep detailed records of prepaids including financial offers and bad debt allowance.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A degree in Finance or Accounting and/or CPA
  • 6+ years of work experience, preferably with experience supporting public companies
  • Experience in the preparation of General Ledger postings and account reconciliations.
  • 2+ years of related experience working in the healthcare industry (i.e., health plan, hospital, government, management consulting, think tank) with a proven track record of successfully managing projects and interfacing with internal or external stakeholders
Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Netsuite experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding and expertise with excel and/or google sheets to enable the calculation and distribution of incentive payments.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to rapid business changes that accompanies a high growth environment.  
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work cross functionality at various levels within a company, as well as with external auditors.

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard.
