Description The Rowlett Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Certified Police Officer. Must be TCOLE certified at the time of application. Position Overview: Under supervision, performs a variety of duties to an assigned area of responsibility such as identifying and apprehending criminal violators; controls and maintains public order and safety; performs related duties as required. Minimum Requirements Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification required at the time of application. Must possess the following: 1.

Successful completion of a TCOLE Basic Course in Applied Police Science (Police Academy) AND 2. Passing score on the TCOLE Peace Officer licensing exam AND 3. Passing score as outlined by the City of Rowlett standards on physical assessment a.

The physical assessment will consist of 18 push-ups, 25 sit-ups, and a 1.5-mile run in 16 minutes or less, as well as a 300-meter run in 77 seconds or less. Other Requirements Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards as established by the City of Rowlett

Must report all traffic citations to his/her departmental designee within two working days of receipt. Vision 20/20, correctable to 20/20. Must pass a background investigation, psychological exam (if required under TCOLE standards), oral interview by Interviewing Board, physical exam, and physical assessment.
