A Career with Point72's Investment Professional Development Team

Our Investment Professional Development (IPD) team is dedicated to the growth and development of our investment analysts. The team focuses on developing investment professional skills with the goal of driving superior alpha generation and enhancing team investment processes by analyzing, consolidating, and sharing best practices, training the investment team population, and preparing analyses and data with partners across the firm.

What you'll do

  • Teach Point72 Academy associates how to use artificial intelligence (AI) effectively and responsibly throughout the fundamental investment research process
  • Build and maintain approved AI tools and workflows that support hands-on training, research practice, and analyst development
  • Create practical lectures, demonstrations, assignments, and stock-based case studies that translate AI concepts into research applications
  • Develop reusable prompts, templates, Python scripts, document search tools, and workflow automations for associates to apply in their work
  • Lead product development from concept to launch, including shared data and analytics workflows that associates can deploy and maintain
  • Coach associates and help resolve technical and research workflow challenges
  • Troubleshoot issues involving APIs, prompts, data preparation, workflow execution, and connections between models and enterprise tools
  • Stay current on emerging AI technologies approved for use across our firm and incorporate relevant capabilities into the Point72 Academy curriculum
  • Partner with Compliance, Information Security and other internal colleagues on approved data sources, system permissibility, analytics, and related AI training initiatives

What's required

  • Two or more years of experience in applied AI, data science, technical training, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, statistics, or a related discipline
  • Interest in financial markets and ability to learn about fundamental investment research processes
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience using data-processing technologies, such as Spark
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Codex
  • Practical experience building and maintaining large language model (LLM) applications or agentic workflows that connect models with enterprise data and tools through APIs or Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • Experience with web scraping, APIs, or other forms of programmatic data collection and ingestion
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or explaining technical concepts to non-technical or early-career professional audiences

The annual base salary range for this role is $250,000-$300,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
