Role:Podcast Studio Producer

Contract Type:Full-time, 12 month rolling contract

Location:Remote, but ideally in Washington, DC

Salary:$80,000 - $90,000 (dependent on experience), + Benefits Package including 401k and Flex 125 plans

Interview Process:3-stage (Virtual and Face-to-face)

Kinly is a leading integrator of audio-visual and unified communications solutions, and the largest in Europe, serving as a globally trusted technology advisor to leading organisations. For more than 25 years, we have been designing, developing, integrating and supporting complex audiovisual solutions and businesses rely on us to deliver consistently secure and flexible meeting experiences.

Exciting new opportunity has arisen on a fantastic client site for an experienced Podcast Studio Producer to be responsible for the end-to-end technical and creative management of live and recorded podcast productions.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role demanding precision, professionalism, and the ability to operate complex broadcast technology while simultaneously ensuring an outstanding experience for on-air guests, including senior executives and high-profile VIPs.

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical broadcast expertise with exceptional interpersonal skills, thriving under pressure in a live studio environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Operate and manage the vMix live production system for multi-camera podcast recordings and live streams
  • Configure and maintain vMix templates, scenes, transitions, and overlays tailored to each show
  • Monitor stream health across all platforms (YouTube Live, LinkedIn, etc.) and troubleshoot in real time
  • Manage stream keys, encoders, and ingest settings to ensure broadcast-quality output
  • Set up and maintain NDI feeds, virtual sets, and lower-thirds graphics within the vMix environment
  • Conduct pre-show technical checks and post-show recording archival and file management
  • Operate the studio mixing console (digital/analog) during live recordings and live streams including Dante protocol
  • Set levels, apply EQ, compression, gating, and reverb to achieve professional broadcast-standard audio
  • Manage multiple microphone inputs (lavalier, condenser, dynamic) and ensure clean, clear audio for all guests
  • Monitor and troubleshoot audio in real time, resolving feedback, interference, or signal issues during broadcasts
  • Coordinate with post-production for audio clean-up, mixing, and mastering of final episode deliverables
  • Maintain and calibrate all audio equipment including microphones, headphones, DI boxes, and patch bays
  • Operate and switch between multiple studio cameras (PTZ and manned) during live recordings
  • Direct camera movements, framing, and shot selection to complement the flow of each episode
  • Configure camera settings (white balance, exposure, colour profiles) for consistent studio aesthetics
  • Manage recording media and ensure all footage is properly labelled, backed up, and delivered
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for high-profile guests, senior executives, and VIP interviewees
  • Brief guests on studio protocols, microphone technique, and on-camera best practices before recording
  • Develop and maintain production runsheets, technical riders, and show templates
  • Collaborate with producers, hosts, editors, and marketing teams to ensure seamless episode delivery
Skills and experience:
  • Calm under pressure — able to manage live technical issues without disrupting the on-air talent
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills — warm, professional, and confident when engaging with high-profile guests
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail in both technical setup and scheduling
  • Self-motivated and proactive — takes ownership of the studio environment and continuously improves processes
  • Proven experience operating vMix in a live broadcast or studio production environment
  • Hands-on audio engineering experience with both analogue and digital mixing consoles
  • Strong multi-camera production skills, including PTZ camera operation and live switching
  • Experience working with and managing VIP or senior-level guests with professionalism and tact
  • Strong understanding of broadcast signal flow, video encoding, and streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, NDI)
  • Experience with Adobe Audition, Audacity, or similar DAW software for post-production audio editing
  • Familiarity with podcast hosting platforms (Buzzsprout, Spotify for Podcasters, etc.)
  • Knowledge of lighting design and operation within a studio environment
