Job description

Key Accountabilities / Core Job Responsibilities
  • Work with Development, Commercial, and other functions for vendor sourcing, RFP generation, assessments and selection, agreement negotiation, and performance management.
  • Guide users and vendors to follow the procure-to-pay process and minimize non-conformances (e.g., missing PO#s).
  • Lead timely resolution of procure-to-pay issues with Development/Commercial and vendors.
  • Manage vendor performance, ensuring adherence to executed agreements and driving improvement actions.
  • Serve as Procurement lead in joint operations reviews and governance meetings to ensure contracts are followed, risks are managed, and vendor relationships are optimized.
  • Document, monitor, and report vendor savings and other Procurement KPIs.
  • Use competitive and market data to support effective negotiation outcomes.
  • Provide benchmarking and subject matter expertise; recommend spend behavior.
  • Drive Procurement strategy.
  • (If applicable) Lead direct reports with goal setting, growth planning, policy adherence, training compliance, and ongoing feedback.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business or closely related field (required).
  • 9+ years procurement experience in biotech/pharmaceutical.
  • 5+ years people management experience (if applicable).
  • Strong experience in purchasing, negotiation, and vendor relationship management.
  • Familiar with Development and Commercial activities in a biotech company.
  • Strong knowledge of Procurement IT solutions (e.g., Coupa, Concur) and GAAP/SOX/internal accounting controls.
Compensation / Benefits
  • Salary range: $159,000โ€“$207,000.
  • Total rewards include 401k, healthcare coverage, ESPP, and other benefits.
