Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Department: Sales Management


Methods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Since then, the company has become one of the largest privately owned machine tool importers in North America.



Job Summary: The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, and delivering complex, cross-functional projects that support Methods Machine Tools' strategic objectives. Reporting to the Senior Director of the Program Management Office (PMO), this role manages projects from initiation through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business goals.

A primary responsibility of this position is leading the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for machines, automation, accessories, and product options by partnering closely with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Service, Sales, and OEM partners to successfully launch new products. The Senior Project Manager also promotes PMO best practices and mentors project managers as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership

  • Lead the full lifecycle of strategic and operational projects from initiation through closeout.
  • Develop project charters, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables using established PMO methodologies.
  • Provide regular project updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Drive accountability and resolve issues to keep projects on track.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Lead the end-to-end NPI process for machines, automation, accessories, and product options.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Service, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and OEM partners to ensure successful product launches.
  • Coordinate project milestones including design reviews, prototype builds, pilot installations, launch readiness, documentation, training, pricing, and service preparedness.
  • Maintain standardized NPI processes, stage gates, and project documentation.
  • Track project performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional project teams while fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Build strong relationships with project sponsors, business leaders, and functional teams.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate critical issues when necessary.
  • Facilitate project meetings, executive reviews, and decision-making sessions.

PMO Governance

  • Ensure consistent use of PMO standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Support portfolio reviews, project audits, and lessons learned activities.
  • Mentor project managers and contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO processes.

Success Measures

  • Successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Effective execution of new product launches.
  • High stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Strong risk management and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field; PMP certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level projects with significant budgets.
  • Strong knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and related project management tools.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, CNC machine tools, or related industries preferred.

Salary:

$115,923.20 - $133,312.16 per year

The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, and may exceed the posted range for highly qualified candidates.
