Job description

This Peer Leader position is open to undergraduate students on the Pace University Pleasantville Campus.

UNV 101 is a first-year seminar designed to support new Pace students as they transition into college life academically, socially, and personally. Peer Leaders play a central role in this experience by serving as mentors, role models, and connectors to campus resources both inside and outside the classroom.

Peer Leaders collaborate closely with their assigned UNV 101 Instructor, support weekly class sessions throughout the semester, and help foster a welcoming, inclusive, and engaged learning environment. This position is supervised by the Assistant Director of First Year Advising (FYA) and is open to full-time undergraduate students.

Responsibilities:

  • Support your UNV 101 Instructor during weekly class meetings.
  • Build community and connect with first-year students.
  • Share the student perspective and facilitate at least eight mini-lessons, including registration presentations.
  • Guide students in using key Pace tools (Classes, Portal, Schedule Explorer, etc.).
  • Promote campus events, resources, and academic success tips.
  • Identify student concerns and refer them to the right support resources.
  • Attend required training before the semester begins.
