About This Role

Bush Hill Day School is a learn through play preschool program for children aged 2-5, offering a supportive community and small class sizes. We're seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our team, working closely with a Lead Teacher to create a positive classroom environment. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about working with young children.


This part-time role runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with flexible scheduling for 3 or 5 days per week. Availability to work until 2:00 PM on select days is preferred.


We're a close-knit community with a beautiful outdoor playground and a focus on hands-on learning, social-emotional development, and plenty of playground time.


What You'll Do
  • Work alongside the lead teacher to maintain daily classroom routines and activities
  • Collaborate with the team to create a well-managed and caring classroom environment
  • Engage children through play, conversation, and guided activities, fostering a sense of curiosity and confidence
  • Assist with daily transitions, snack, lunch, and outdoor activities
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe classroom space for children to thrive
  • Communicate effectively with staff and families, promoting a sense of community and support

Requirements
  • Patience and empathy when working with young children
  • Previous experience in a preschool, child care, or early childhood setting (preferred)
  • Reliability and a strong sense of teamwork
  • A positive attitude and genuine love for working with young children
  • Ability to engage children in learning activities and think creatively
  • A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the program.
