Job description

SUMMARY:
Responsible for furnishing Leads and Cage Service Representatives in the Guest Service area of the Finance Department and Gaming Department employees with currency. The Cage/Player's Club Supervisor will assist in the guest's financial needs, Player's Club membership, and promotional giveaways.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Assists various departments in counting gratuities.
  • Verifies all money drops and deposits money into appropriate accounts.
  • Reconciles accounts.
  • Processes markers, returned checks and guest deposits.
  • Pays out Jackpots.
  • Maintains various records of Main Bank activities.
  • Counts and balances foreign chips.
  • Pulls and counts mutilated money, preparing it to be returned to the bank.
  • Accurately balances assigned bank.
  • Cashes chips and gaming tokens into money for guests, in a courteous, timely manner.
  • Cashes personal checks and travelers checks for currency.
  • Redeems foreign currency, computing accurate exchange rates for the various currency received.
  • Processes marker buy-back transactions, providing quality service to each guest.
  • Assists Leads and Cage /Player's Club Representatives within Cage area, as needed.
  • Enrolls new guests in the Player's Club.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the player's club in order to effectively explain same to guests.
  • Resolves minor guest conflicts, which relate to Player's Club.
  • Issues complimentary for guests when appropriate level of play has been established.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of casino facilities, as well as current and upcoming special events, in order to advise guests and fellow employees, whenever possible.
  • Access funds and ensures prompt distribution to appropriate areas of property.
  • Assists Management with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, which enable Leads and the Cage Service Representatives to function more effectively.
  • Maintains adequate staffing levels by training, scheduling, evaluating and assisting with career development, promoting, disciplining, and terminating employees, as needed.
  • Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced by employees under his/her span of control.
  • Monitors all financial activities on property, which relate to the Cage area, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the property, the Federal and State Tax Commissions, and the Gaming Commission are enforced throughout the property.
  • Assists with the coordination of audits relating to banks, guest deposits, and rotation logs.
  • Assists the Leads and Cage Service Representatives in understanding the complexities of their responsibilities within the department.
  • Ensures a maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction, with respect to the Cage area, is achieved and maintained.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all employees under his/her span of control.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Prepares promotional gift product by counting product, preparing product and ensuring gift product is ready to be disbursed and assists in the disbursement of product as needed.
  • Transports promotional product from pre-event storage locations to promotional event locations through the use of a pallet jack.
  • Prepares and submits starting inventories, activity summary of promotional variances and closing inventory reports for all promotional giveaways.
  • Identifies and verifies promotional drawing winners and completes associated paperwork.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Some college courses in banking and finance or related area preferred. Prior Cage and/or Player's Club experience preferred.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Effective communication skills preferred. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate.
This position requires a Level 2 Gaming License.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to move large quantities of bagged coins weighing approximately 20 pounds.
The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
