Argenta is currently looking to fill the role of Business Development Director at our Shawnee, KS location. This position will drive Argenta's CDMO commercial strategy, building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for growth across pharmaceutical sciences, development, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate brings extensive business development experience in the animal health CDMO sectors, a strong industry network, and proven skills in negotiation, communication, and client relationship management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and execution of Argenta's CDMO commercial strategy in partnership with key internal stakeholders across our global sites.
  • Build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, with a deep understanding of their evolving needs across pharmaceutical sciences, development, and manufacturing.
  • Act as a trusted representative of Argenta, promoting our full-service capabilities from molecule to market and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
  • Lead the preparation, negotiation, and closure of high-quality proposals and contracts that meet both Argenta and client objectives in alignment with revenue targets.
  • Collaborate closely with RD&I and Manufacturing Business Unit Leaders to deliver cohesive and compelling proposals that support our integrated service model.
  • Act as a key liaison in addressing client concerns or challenges, partnering with internal scientific leaders across our global sites to deliver solutions and secure new business wins.

About You:

  • Proven track record in CDMO business development within the pharmaceutical or animal health sectors, with experience in commercial manufacturing. Experience in sterile manufacturing is preferred.
  • Deep and broad knowledge of the global animal health sector, with a strong focus on veterinary regulatory affairs, clinical development, and product development.
  • Extensive network of relationships within animal health.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to generate awareness and demand for Argenta's services across diverse client groups.
  • High standards of written and verbal communication, with exceptional presentation and proposal development skills.
  • Collaborative and professional in approach, with the ability to build trust and work effectively across cross-functional teams and global stakeholders.
