Director of Player Analytics and Development, Softball
Job Summary
Responsible for supporting the evaluation, development, and holistic growth of student-athletes using analytics, technology, performance assessment, and educational programming. This position utilizes performance data, video analysis, and emerging technologies to evaluate player development, support coaching decisions, and provide actionable recommendations that enhance individual and team performance. The position also serves as a liaison to various athletics and external units supporting player development, NIL initiatives, community engagement, alumni relations, and fan development activities.
Essential Functions
Utilizes video analysis, direct observation, and performance technologies to evaluate student-athlete performance.
Analyzes data from multiple platforms including TruMedia, Blast, HitTrax, Trackman, and other performance tools.
Develops performance reports, visualizations, assessments, and recommendations for coaches and student athletes.
Creates and supports individualized and team development plans.
Coordinates meetings, film review sessions, educational programming, and performance discussions.
Develops monitoring tools and assessment processes that support continuous improvement.
Assists student-athletes with organizational systems, goal tracking, and habit development.
Supports recruiting initiatives through data evaluation and prospect analysis.
Assists coaching staff with practice design and implementation.
Utilizes analytics and scouting data to support team preparation.
Develops opponent scouting reports and performance analyses.
Assists with practice-related activities and film review preparation.
Supports recruiting and coaching activities as permitted by NCAA regulations.
Serves as a liaison to student-athlete development, leadership, NIL, alumni, donor, community, and marketing initiatives.
Collaborates with communications, marketing, development, multimedia rights, and compliance personnel.
Supports player branding, storytelling, and promotional activities.
Assists with alumni engagement, donor relations, sponsorship activation, fan development, and community outreach.
Coordinates special events, camps, NIL activities, alumni functions, and promotional initiatives.
Supports initiatives designed to increase attendance and fan engagement.
Provides day-to-day directions to assigned graduate assistants and managers.
Delegates projects and responsibilities supporting analytics and player development efforts.
Assists with performance evaluations and personnel development.
Supports onboarding and training activities for assigned staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Statistics, Data Analytics, Exercise Science, Sports Administration, Kinesiology, Business Administration, or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience Requirement
3-5 years of experience in athletics analytics, player development, performance analysis, scouting, sports technology, or related areas.
Experience utilizing athletic performance platforms, video analysis systems, and player evaluation technologies preferred.
Experience working in collegiate athletics, professional sports, or elite athletic environments preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
Certifications & Licensures
Valid driver's license required. Must maintain eligibility to travel on behalf of the university.
NCAA Recruiting Certification required, if applicable.

Responsibilities include repetitive use of a computer and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Periodic travel and evening or weekend work may be required to support team operations, recruiting, competitions, and athletic events.
