Job Title: Head Girls' Cross Country Coach

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeableย Head Girls' Cross Countryย  Coach to lead and develop our high school tennis program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, experience in coaching or collegiate track and field experience, and the ability to mentor student-athletes while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaching & Training: Plan and conduct effective practices to develop players' skills, techniques, and meet strategies.
  • Game Management: Prepare the team for competitions, make strategic decisions, and ensure players compete at their highest level.
  • Player Development: Mentor athletes to improve their abilities and foster sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all school and state athletic association regulations regarding safety, eligibility, and conduct.
  • Equipment & Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance of facilities, equipment, and team uniforms.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with athletes, parents, school administration, and athletic staff regarding schedules, expectations, and team progress.
  • Academic Support: Encourage student-athletes to maintain academic eligibility and support their success in the classroom.
  • Team Building: Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior coaching experience (preferred) or a strong background in competitive track.
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification and any required state coaching certifications.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to motivate and develop student-athletes.
  • Availability: Ability to commit to the season, including practices, meets, and postseason meets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience coaching at the high school or collegiate level.
  • Knowledge of high school track and field rules and regulations.
  • Ability to drive an activity bus and obtain necessary transportation certifications.
