The Role

Under the direction of  the Plating Supervisor , the Plater Operator is responsible to plate rolls in order to meet customer requirements, to help the Plating Supervisor with training new Plating Helpers according to the work instructions, and to contain all hazardous waste in proper containers.

Requirements

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items

  • Prepare rolls for chrome plating
  • Set plating controls and monitor plating tank temperature and solution levels
  • Inspect rolls for defects before and after plating
  • Perform testing for surface texture and chrome thickness on rolls
  • Fill out paperwork completely
  • Perform crane inspection
  • Maintain housekeeping of area
  • Able to work overtime when required

Education and Experience
