*This is a 3rd Shift Position working Wednesday-Friday 6pm-6am*

Summary/Objective:  The Plating Maintenance Technician is responsible for the continuous operation of all Plating Strip Lines and Barrel Lines.  The technician is also responsible to assist with the water treatment system.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
  1. Support global Plating Operations with a high level of integrity with the maintenance of the plating strip lines and barrel lines.
  2. Complete scheduled preventative maintenance daily on plating lines and support equipment, documenting findings in the maintenance work order system and follow up on open issues found.
  3. Monitor preventative maintenance tasks performed by production operators and assist as required.
  4. Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform troubleshooting on, and repairs to, a variety of production equipment, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulics.
  5. Maintain special tooling by cleaning, inspecting, repairing, and restocking as required.
  6. Assist the Environmental Manager in monitoring and maintaining the wastewater treatment system operation.  Ensure that all waste BI-products are drummed, labeled, and properly stored as required by law.
  7. Fabricate tooling and spare parts as needed to support Plating Operations.
  8. The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position.  Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities.
  9. Additional requirements for this position may be needed based on the facility in which this is located.

Required Experience:
 
  1. 5+ Years' Experience in a technical or technician role in a large-volume manufacturing environment.
  2. Electrical experience is a must.
  3. Experience troubleshooting/programming PLC's is preferred.
  4. Lifting Requirements: Medium Work - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist. Requires working with heavy drums of chemicals with a drum dolly.
  5. Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions: Exposure to chemicals and sound; must wear required safety gear.
  6. Must be a self-starter with strong teamwork skills. 
  7. Must be able to work independently and learn quickly.
  8. Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Preferred Education: 
  1. High School Diploma or GED is required. 
  2. 2-Year or 4-Year Electrical or Mechanical Engineering/Technical Degree is preferred. 
  3. Experience can be used to supplement or replace educational requirements.
