Job description

US Engine Valve is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator.

This position will be a product tech position on second or third shift and will require overtime.

Primary Function:
Sets up, operates, and maintains production machinery to perform close tolerance operations of any of the following: shearing, friction welding, heat treating, grinding, turning, drilling, or plating.

Essential Functions:
  • Operates production equipment according to guidelines and in a safe manner.
  • Performs set-ups and light maintenance of equipment.  Troubleshoot equipment when required.
  • Maintains proper oil and coolant levels of machines, where applicable.
  • Adjust machines, tooling, and wheels to keep products within specified tolerances.
  • Completes production documentation (first piece approvals, tagging, scrap tickets, etc.) accurately & neatly.
  • Use specified gages to ensure proper product tolerances.
  • Where required, performs SPC on specified dimensions.
  • Actively participates as a functioning team member of a self managed work team.
  • May stop and correct the manufacturing process if specified quality levels are not met.
  • Performs required housekeeping expectations.
  • Follows Quality Management System and Environmental Management System guidelines on a daily basis.
  • Knowledgeable on USEV Lean System principles and uses Lean tools on a daily basis.
  • Actively participates in 5S and TPM programs.
  • Assists in Cost Savings and Cost Control activities.
  • Ensure Suggestion goals are met.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year manufacturing (machining) experience.
