What is a platform manager?

A Platform Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and optimization of a specific technology platform within an organization. They coordinate between technical teams, stakeholders, and users to ensure the platform meets business needs and operates reliably. Platform Managers may also be involved in strategic planning, vendor management, and implementing new features or integrations. Their role is crucial for ensuring platforms are scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a platform manager?

To thrive as a Platform Manager, you need expertise in platform architecture, project management, and a solid understanding of business operations, often supported by a relevant degree or industry certification.
