Job description

The Team
The Corporate Systems team is responsible for supporting platforms used by Morningstar employees worldwide. We provide support for platforms used by Marketing, Sales, Client Service, Finance and Product teams and enhance processes and systems for operational efficiencies. The Corporate Salesforce org has about 2000 users, and utilizes Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ (Configure Price Quote), Experience Cloud, Revenue Cloud, Agentforce and custom code.
The Role:
The Senior Developer's primary role is to lead the technical development work in the Morningstar Corporate Salesforce environment, and to mentor and lead junior developers. You are expected to write and review Apex code, and develop technical solutions in the org.
You will work closely with the Salesforce product owner, program manager, architect, and developers to build robust solutions on the platform. The Senior Developer is expected to develop solutions in Salesforce along with designing end state and assess implementation feasibilities for feature requests and initiatives.
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid- 4 days onsite)
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with stakeholders from the business and Corporate Systems technical team to develop technology solutions needed to drive alignment of business needs and lead discussions to arrive at mutually agreeable solution options.
  • Work independently as needed to resolve issues within the platform and advise users on standards and best practices.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal clients and Corporate Systems technology leads to ensure our commitment towards delivery and service levels.
  • Coach junior developer resources on the team
  • Keep up to date with the latest Salesforce features and releases, and identify opportunities to improve our Salesforce org.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with Salesforce solutions.
  • Identify and reduce technical debt on the platform.
  • Ensure that Salesforce solutions are scalable, maintainable, and secure.
  • Recommend best practices with respect to dev-ops and coding standards.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience on the Salesforce.com platform, and at least two years of experience in managing a small dev squad.
  • Salesforce certifications a plus, including Platform Developer 1 and Platform Developer 2
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Gearset preferred)
  • Experience with integration architecture third-party integration tools and ETL (Such as Informatica) with Salesforce
  • Advanced knowledge of platform data models and APIs (Application Program Interfaces)
  • Experience with Experience Cloud, CPQ, Revenue Cloud and Agentforce is a plus
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements and identify solution options
  • Ability to facilitate complex discussions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across cross-functional teams and communicate with all levels of management across the organization
