Roberts PolyPro is seeking several talented and highly motivated plastics line operators who will be responsible for the operation of plastic manufacturing production line(s) to produce quality products at standard production rates. This position requires the ability to vary prescribed operating conditions as necessary to produce quality products. The operator is responsible for safety, product quality, plant cleanliness and overall efficiency of their assigned area and reports to the Shift Team Leader.

Roberts PolyPro is seeking several talented and highly motivated plastics line operators who will be responsible for the operation of plastic manufacturing production line(s) to produce quality products at standard production rates. This position requires the ability to vary prescribed operating conditions as necessary to produce quality products. The operator is responsible for safety, product quality, plant cleanliness and overall efficiency of their assigned area and reports to the Shift Team Leader.

  • Ensure that the products produced and shipped conform and meet quality standards and customer specifications.

  • Monitor product standards, focusing on quality-control programs.

  • Know, understand and conform to all quality processes for production efforts.

  • Use basic math skills to perform quality control checks.

  • Perform all aspects of the job safely and observing all safety regulations.

  • Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping of the production machinery and surrounding area in accordance with 5-S standards. Ensure a clean and safe workplace.

  • Change and load recipe data for the material handling system.

  • Change color, drain system and set let down percentage.

  • Start/shut down a sheet extruder.

  • Adjust extrusion process, speed, bank, and pressure settings.

  • Read pressure setting to determine when the screen and breaker plate requires cleaning.

  • Change out hot dies and set die temperatures to profile settings.

  • Set roll stand gap and set the temperatures according to profile.

  • Accept other responsibilities that may be assigned.

  • Communicate issues to Team Leader, Maintenance and/or Management in order to facilitate corrections.

  • Look for opportunities to improve current operations.

  • Able to perform job requirements with minimal supervision.

  • Responsible for documentation pertaining to the shift assignment.

  • Overall knowledge of tools, instruments, and standard test equipment and plant processes Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to production equipment

  • Excellent communication ability to interact with others professionally, ability to read and comprehend written instructions

  • Energetic and personable demeanor, be self-motivated

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds (22.68 kg) to move products

  • Flexible and dedicated to doing what it takes to get the job done

  • Valid training certificate to operate fork truck preferred, training is provided.

  • Ability to sample new tools and communicate with Engineering, Tooling, and Quality personnel to assure objectives are achieved.

  • Available to work overtime and weekends as needed.

  • Ability to document all processes related to the molding of a part that is repeatable and understandable
