Job description

THE ROLE:

Quality Technician

LOCATION:

Waukesha, WI

REPORTS TO:

Manager, Quality & Continuous Improvement

POSITION TYPE:

Full-time, non-exempt

HOURS: 10am – 8pm, Monday - Thursday

OUR OPPORTUNITY:

Under the supervision of the Manager, Quality & Continuous Improvement, QA Technician checks and inspects in-coming materials, in-process and finished products, ensuring conformance to company quality standards and customer specifications. This role will have a specific focus on Powder Paint processes and quality standards, thus previous paint experience referred

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • **Perform

    **inspection on raw materials, outsourced parts, in-process materials, fabricated parts and finished goods, making sure of conformance to specifications.

  • **Interpret

    ** detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits.

  • **Test

    **finished products for paint quality and thickness, welding quality, dimensions, fit, and appearance.

  • **Conduct

    ** and document individual tool calibration and verification per company standards.

  • **Compile,

    ** interpret, and document statistical data from testing processes to either confirm compliance with established quality standards or identify deviations.

  • **Process

    ** non-conformance reports when incorrect material is received.

  • **Ensure

    **finished product is packaged, marked, tagged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportation.

  • **Analyze

    **inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical diploma or Associate degree in quality engineering, quality assurance, quality control or equivalent experience and education.

  • Three to five years related experience in manufacturing which includes working in quality and/or responsibility for inspection of raw materials, parts, in-process materials and finished goods.

  • Knowledge of welding and/or powder coat processes strongly preferred.

  • Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, paint film gauge, squares, measuring tape, profile gauge, and various other precision measuring devices.

  • Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) is a plus.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., Epicor).

  • Must possess strong attention to detail.

  • Solid interpersonal relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Physical requirements include Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when turning parts over. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, pulling, and extended periods of standing.
