We are a custom injection molding company known for producing high quality products that meet the needs of our customers.

SUMMARY

Perform all aspects of mold repair and maintenance to ensure quality products and on time delivery to meet customer needs. Provide expertise and coordination for mold repair projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on injection molds; Disassemble molds for inspection, cleaning and repair.
  • Analyze, diagnose and correct tooling problems on the production floor and in the Tool Room.
  • Read and interpret 2D mold designs to reflect mold revisions.
  • Provide input to engineering and operations regarding mold performance and preventative maintenance issues.
  • Set up and operate tool room equipment, including manual and/or CNC.
  • Troubleshoot and assemble manifold systems.
  • Research problems with equipment and tooling and take corrective action.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Evaluate new mold performance in production.
  • Maintains stock inventories by ensuring the proper levels of component parts are available at all times for tooling repair.
  • Operate a forklift as required.
  • Do minor maintenance on machines in tool room.
  • Support the Maintenance team in plant, when needed.
  • Be available to work overtime as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies regarding conduct, safety practices, and job performance.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong tool build and/or design knowledge
  • Working knowledge of plastic injection molding process
  • Communicate mold issues with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work in a team environment to assure mold repairs meet production schedules
  • Effective problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree, Trade Certification or equivalent years of work experience in related business area. Five years-experience in mold repair in plastics’ manufacturing environment. Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
