Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Plastic Fabricator who can work as an independent operator, taking a job from drawing to finished part with minimal supervision. This person will lead high-precision fabrication work, bring strong plastic bending and welding skills, hold our parts to strict tolerance and finish standards, and mentor junior fabricators on the shop floor.


Job Duties:

โ€ข  Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders

โ€ข  Cut, shape, heat, bend, and bond plastics using saws, routers, strip heaters, or ovens

โ€ข  Perform specialized plastic welding such as hot-air, extrusion, or solvent bonding

โ€ข  Produce high-precision parts and assemblies to medical device and semiconductor tolerances

โ€ข  Inspect and QC your own parts using precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers to confirm they meet spec before they leave your station

โ€ข  Sand, buff, polish, and finish surfaces to meet strict client standards

โ€ข  Train, mentor, and oversee junior fabricators in daily shop tasks

โ€ข  Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety rules


Requirements:

โ€ข  High school diploma or GED equivalent

โ€ข  Three or more years of hands-on shop experience in custom plastic fabrication

โ€ข  Demonstrated experience with precision plastic bending and welding (hot-air, extrusion, or solvent bonding)

โ€ข  Experience fabricating to tight tolerances, ideally for medical device, semiconductor, or other high-precision industries

โ€ข  Able to QC your own work and read precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers

โ€ข  Proven ability to work as an independent operator, managing your own workflow and priorities with minimal supervision

โ€ข  Strong knowledge of plastic types and material reactions to heat and chemicals

โ€ข  Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and shop machinery

โ€ข  Ability to read blueprints and use advanced shop math
