Who are we?
PlantHouse is a rapidly growing experience-based terrarium workshop & plant store. We focus on modern ceramics and unique houseplants. We carry a wide variety of styles for every home and we are always adapting to new trends. We are a fast-growing company looking to expand our team!
PlantHouse employees, the Plant Crew, have a passion for all things plants and top-tier customer service. Our customer's experience is our number one priority and it is where we focus the majority of early training - ensuring we are meeting our customer's needs while creating a wonderful and welcoming environment. As a Plant Crew member, you'll be responsible for the entire customer experience, from greeting customers at the door to re-stocking shelves during a shift to leading people through a successful DIY Terrarium workshop. The ideal candidate for this role will be hard-working, a team player, creative, have a passion for assisting customers, and willing to learn.
Reporting
This role reports to the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
Pay
This position is hourly and is paid weekly.
Hours
  • Up to 30 hours per week
  • You must be available on weekends and some weekdays and nights
  • Available to work during retail black out periods and holidays like Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc.

Areas of Expectations & Responsibilities
  • Ensures every guest has the full Planthouse experience
  • Adheres to all standard operating procedures and policies
  • Drives sales through the engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge
  • Directs customers to either our bar, retail area, or DIY terrarium building sections
  • Responsible for cash handling procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining assigned area
  • Stages merchandise
  • Performs store maintenance including, but not limited to, taking out the garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, maintaining stock room
  • Assists with inventory, including receiving and labeling merchandise
  • Educate customers on plant care and home decor options
  • Teach terrarium workshops
  • Plants and shelf maintenance (Shelf reset)

Requirements
  • Ability to work long hours while on your feet
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to multitask

Job Setting & Physical Demands
This position is primarily indoors with office and retail environment, which may require the use of computers, registers, cash handling, etc. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work arounds plants, including dust and allergens. Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties.
Employee must have the ability to lift 35 pounds unaided, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
