The Manager of Planning (Canada) is responsible for leading the omni planning team supporting all categories for the Canada market. Leads team in the creation and execution of developing sales and margin plans gaining alignment and ensuring that the financial strategy pursued is consistent with the brand’s growth plans. Drives achievement of plans in collaboration with key partners including merchandising, inventory, finance and marketing. The role requires strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills to work collaboratively. 

 Responsibilities

 •    Lead and develop Sr. Planners, Planners & Associate Planners; including goal setting, providing development opportunities, feedback, providing clear direction and expectations, fostering collaboration, and evaluation of performance. 
•    Provide day-to-day direction and oversight to planning activities. 
•    Support strategic vision for team and function. 
•    Lead the creation, execution, analysis and management of sales, promotional and margin plans.
•    Partner with AVP/Director to define and maintain reporting and provide analytics and recommendations.
•    Constantly challenge status quo to look for process improvement and optimization
•    Leads execution and has oversight of deliverables for the following: Monthly Plan Review, Product Financial Meetings, pricing, Buy strategies and commitments, promo ideation and analysis of results, testing strategies and proposals
•    Represent planning in category/function meetings
•    Applies in-depth knowledge within planning category, as well as developing general knowledge across multiple work areas to lead the team.
•    Participates in the development of processes to achieve specific goals; applies judgment, evaluation, and interpretation to help others select the right course of action.

 Qualifications

 •    At least seven (7) years of financial or planning experience required. One (1) or more years of prior managerial experience required.
•    Able to communicate and present complex ideas to partners at all levels to influence strategies and decisions. Ability to recognize need for urgency and accuracy.
•    Ability to work well within a fast-moving, cross-functional environment
•    Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a team including: implementing process change, managing execution, decision making skills. Champion new ideas and initiatives.
•    Works well under pressure; able to manage multiple demands with competing priorities and allocate time effectively.
•    Technical skill proficiency using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
