POSITION SUMMARY
The Materials Planning Manager is a centralized team role responsible for ensuring on-time supply of materials across multiple manufacturing facilities within the Thermal AMER Business Unit. This role focuses on reviewing material supply for critical materials in the 8-week to 24-month planning horizon, coordinating with factory Materials Management teams, Procurement, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery in support of on-time customer order fulfillment.
Additionally, this role collaborates with factory teams and Procurement to execute sourcing projects that secure external supply capacity to support long-term internal capacity growth plans aligned to SIOP. The Materials Planning Manager provides critical input on mid-term and long-term supply risks to the constrained supply plan and drives necessary actions to ensure material availability across the planning horizon. This position requires strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, combined with the initiative to drive projects from idea through execution and completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review and monitor material supply for critical materials across the 8-week to 24-month planning horizon, identifying risks and gaps that could impact on-time delivery of customer orders

  • Provide input on mid-term and long-term supply risks that need to be accounted for in the constrained supply plan
  • Collaborate with factory teams and Procurement to identify, initiate, and execute sourcing projects that secure external supply capacity aligned to long-term internal capacity growth plans
  • Drive sourcing projects from idea through execution and completion, managing timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes
  • Develop and maintain visibility to critical material supply status across the Thermal AMER BU, escalating risks and constraints as appropriate
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with factory Materials Management, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations teams
  • Engage directly with suppliers as needed to address supply constraints, capacity concerns, and delivery performance
  • Support the SIOP process by providing material supply intelligence, constraint analysis, and risk assessments
  • Identify opportunities to improve material supply reliability, reduce lead times, and mitigate supply chain risk across the BU
  • Monitor supplier capacity and performance to proactively identify risks to long-term growth plans

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field
  • 4-8 years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, procurement, or planning within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong familiarity with the SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process and the ability to translate SIOP outputs into material supply actions
  • Demonstrated project management skills with a track record of driving projects from concept through execution and completion
  • Experience coordinating across multiple manufacturing sites and cross-functional teams
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries without direct authority
  • Self-starter with the initiative to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive action independently
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess supply risks, evaluate capacity constraints, and develop mitigation plans
  • Experience with ERP/MRP and SCM systems (Oracle, Cyberplan, Kinaxis, or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present supply risks and recommendations to leadership
