Position Objectives

The Event Planning Manager’s primary focus is servicing sales bookings. This position acts as the liaison between meeting planners and the Hotel Operations team. Responsibilities include planning and detailing all meetings, food, beverage, and A/V needs in addition to overseeing room blocks and pick up, billing instructions, bill review and post event review. Event Planning Managers are the on-site contacts for customers and will deliver customer satisfaction with smooth execution of all events. All duties are to be preformed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Event Captain, Catering or banquet supervisor, sales and marketing or other related experience, preferably in the hotel setting
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Demonstrated experience in exercising confidentiality and integrity

Education & Skills

  • Preferred; Bachelors Degree in Hospitality, Event Planning or other related fields
  • Required; extensive experience using Microsoft Office Applications, Outlook, Internet, and other Microsoft Office products
  • Required; mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Required; effective oral and written communication skills in order to interact with all employee levels and guests within the hotel
  • Required; Ability to multi task, prioritize and handle conflicting demands
  • Required; Flexible with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing priorities and situations
