Planned Parenthood of Florida is seeking either an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or a Physician Assistant (PA), to join our talented team as a PRN (Per Diem) Advanced Practice Clinician supporting our Sarasota, St. Petersburg, and Tampa health centers. Schedule & Coverage

This is a PRN (per diem), non-benefit eligible position designed to provide coverage based on operational needs, including planned time off, staffing vacancies, and other scheduling needs.

This position will primarily support our Sarasota, St. Petersburg, and Tampa health centers. Candidates should have the flexibility to travel between these locations as needed.

Snapshot of key accountabilities of the Advanced Practice Clinician:

  • Provide high-quality reproductive and sexual healthcare, including physical exams, patient counseling, contraception management, STI testing/treatment, and abortion-related services.
  • Conduct medical assessments including breast and pelvic exams, Pap smears, and other screenings aligned with PPFL protocols.
  • Ensure thorough documentation, compliance with medical standards, and support clinic productivity and flow.
  • Collaborate with health center leadership and staff to deliver efficient, patient-centered care.
  • Educate patients on reproductive and sexual health topics, including GAHT, pregnancy options, sterilization post-care, and behavioral/primary health services.
  • Refer patients for care beyond the clinician’s scope as needed and manage follow-up procedures.
  • Participate in staff training and contribute to quality assurance efforts.
  • May perform specialized services such as ultrasound, colposcopy, centralized follow-up, or on-call support, if appropriately credentialed and privileged.

Experience/Education of the Advanced Practice Clinician:

  • Current State of Florida Licensure as APRN or PA required, with dispensing authority.
  • Prior experience in women’s health, reproductive health, or family planning strongly preferred.
  • Experience with EHR/EMR systems preferred.
  • Must possess excellent decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to reproductive health and rights.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Comfort in discussing sensitive topics related to sexuality, pregnancy, and contraception.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Hourly compensation starts at $54.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and local market conditions.
