Registered Nurse (RN)

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) at Les Peters Academy in Tampa, Florida, which is relocating to St. Petersburg, FL.

Les Peters Academy is a moderate-risk residential commitment program for female youth aged 14 to 19. This program provides youth with comprehensive care, treatment, supervision, and evidence-based intensive mental health services. Youth will also receive psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group counseling, while in the program.

Pay: $36.06 / Hr Non-Exempt

What you will do:

  • Works as a member of the Site Medical Team. Provides for the general health care of students and staff, within the scope of the license. Administers immunizations and assists with all health maintenance activities, including but not limited to TB screens and Hepatitis B vaccines. Educates students, staff, and the community regarding relevant health care topics such as prevention of sports injuries, blood-borne pathogens, CPR, First Aid, and behavioral disorders. Assists with other applicable training duties of site employees. Provides individualized parenting instruction for students who are pregnant or postpartum. (Site–specific– BMYSC). Coordinates students for psychiatric review and executes psychiatric orders as prescribed. (Site–specific– BMYSC). Coordinates with the Clinical Director/Psychologist to meet the needs of the students requiring psychiatric evaluation and medication management review. Executes psychiatric orders as prescribed by the Psychiatrist. Works with providers and community agencies to plan programs to meet the students' health care needs. Orders or directs the ordering of supplies, pharmaceuticals, and other equipment.

To be considered, you should:

  • Must possess a valid, clear Registered Nurse license from the state of Florida. A Bachelor's degree in a related health care field is preferred, but not required. A minimum of two years of medical services experience is preferred, but not required. Good interpersonal skills are required. If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, the employee must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a valid State Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
