POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pine Manufacturing Pro is responsible for performing tasks at entry-level workstation(s) in a specific mill department: Sawmill, Planer Mill, or Moulder. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, team-oriented, and willing to learn.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SAFETY: OUR TOP PRIORITY
• Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Take personal responsibility for their own safety and those working around them.
• Participate in safety huddles, stretch huddles, and near miss program.
• Report unsafe conditions and behaviors when recognized.
• Wear required PPE.
ENGAGEMENT
• Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute ideas for process improvement.
• Be a reliable team member with good attendance.
• Other duties may be assigned.
A. Sawmill Department - Sticker Placer
• Place stickers between layers of boards or ensure sticker chute is full.
• Ensure extra stickers are placed on bottom layers.
• Cull out non-uniform stickers.
• Keep up with stacker feed rate.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Other duties may be assigned.
B. Sawmill Department - Sash Tailer
• Distribute boards from the sash gang to the edger, trimmer, or chipper appropriately.
• Keep the chipper running, clearing jams, etc.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Other duties may be assigned.
C. Planer Mill and Moulder Departments - Board Puller
• Stack lumber properly and neatly according to SOP.
• Understand and stack like grades according to milling list specifications.
• Communicate full cart, push from work area, and replace with new cart.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Other duties may be assigned.
D. Planer Mill and Moulder Departments - Wrap and Strap
• Ensure proper tag placement, number of staples, and wrap fit before packaging.
• Confirm physical tally is accurate to what tag reads.
• Follow all packaging SOPs.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Other duties may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with team members.
  • Able to read and count.

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive work culture.

REPETITIVE PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Lift 60# from floor to waist, lift 40# from waist to shoulder
  • Carry 60# over a distance exceeding 12 feet
