Position Summary
THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 2 YEARS.
Our research lab is developing small molecule and gene therapies for Angelman syndrome, Pitt-Hopkins syndrome, Dup15q syndrome, and other single gene disorders. Towards the goal of preclinically advancing novel therapeutics for these disorders, this Research Technician will perform preclinical experiments in mouse models of these single-gene disorders.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Management Preferences
* Experience in experimental techniques, to include PCR, microscopy, gel electrophoresis, and cell culture
* Experience in animal care, to include mouse handling and mouse colony maintenance
* Experience in data analysis, to include data tabulation, spreadsheet proficiency, data summarization, and graph making
* Experience in project management, including scheduling and record keeping
* Experience in histology, including sectioning tissue, mounting tissue, and staining tissue
Required Licenses/Certifications Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to conduct laboratory bench work for up to 4 hours/day. Requires standing for > 4 hours/day. Must be able to handle animals
