  • Cumberland and Harnett (5 Openings)

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. has an opportunity for a Family Centered Treatment Therapist to become part of our team in communities serving North Carolina. This position will provides a full range of mental health therapy services for clients using the Family Centered Treatment model.

POSITION HIGHTLIGHTS:

• Provide independent diagnostic and psycho-social evaluations and therapy services which focus on complicated mental health issues, family issues, parenting issues, adolescent issues and substance abuse and addiction issues and their impact on daily living and individual and family relationships.

• Evaluates the client and family situation and their ability to deal with their problems; conducts an in-depth comprehensive clinical interview to determine psycho-social, mental health, substance use and medical needs and documents diagnoses and recommendations; develops a person-centered plan based on this assessment; provides ongoing monitoring, assessment, and updates to the Person-Centered and Crisis Plans

• Provides in-depth therapy which can range from crisis intervention to treatment of complex co-occurring mental health and personality disorders.

• Provides individual, group and family counseling and activities adapted or specifically designed for persons with physical disabilities or persons with co-occurring disorders or mental illness and substance abuse/dependence or intellectual disability/developmental disability and substance abuse/dependence.


REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of Bachelor’s Degree, within Human Service field preferred.
  • Meets requirements under 10A NCAC 27G.0104 as a Qualified Professional for Mental Health.
  • Preferred graduation from an accredited program with a Master’s degree in a human services or related field and two years of progressive child and family mental health/substance use counseling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid driver’s license and/or government-issued ID is required. Must have reliable transportation.
