Job description

CarParts.com (formally known as US Auto Parts and JC Whitney) is seeking FULL-TIME Warehouse Cherry Picker Operators for multiple shifts during the day, night, or on weekends. Shifts may vary by location and may include shift differential pay.

The Cherry Picker / Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Operator is responsible for safely operating cherry pickers and other PIT equipment to retrieve, transport, and store products within the fulfillment center. This role focuses on order fulfillment, putaway, and replenishment while maintaining safety, accuracy, and productivity standards.

  • Fulltime Weekday 3 days: Mon - Wed from 5 am - 5:30 pm
  • Fulltime Weekday Nights 4 days: Mon - Thur from 6:00 pm - 4:30 am
  • Fulltime Weekend 3 days: Thur - Sat 5:00 am - 5:30 pm

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Distribution Center Forklift Operator Team Member, you will be part of an energetic team environment with the opportunity to work in a variety of positions in our warehouse.

  • Properly and safely operate lift trucks, including stock pickers and cherry pickers, in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations
  • Complete required Order Picker checklists prior to operation and ensure pallets are properly positioned on forks before lifting
  • Monitor equipment readiness, including ensuring battery levels do not fall below 25%
  • Inspect and properly use safety harnesses and lanyards; ensure equipment is in good working condition prior to use
  • Safely pick up pallets from designated staging locations
  • Put away inventory accurately and document storage locations using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or RF scanner
  • Use scan guns/RF devices to pick customer orders
  • Place products securely on pallets and transport pallets to staging or outbound areas
  • Practice safe material handling techniques at all times
  • Count items during putaway and verify quantities against scanner or system data
  • Ensure items being put away match current stock and product specifications
  • Verify all items are properly labeled prior to storage or staging
  • Follow FIFO/LP procedures by putting away older license plates (LPs) before newer ones, unless otherwise instructed
  • Assist with packing or other fulfillment tasks as business needs require
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout the shift and at end of day
  • Meet or exceed expected productivity, quality, and safety standards
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by leadership

  • Ability to safely operate stock pickers, cherry pickers, and other PIT equipment, or ability to become certified
  • Intermediate interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Flexible, adaptable attitude in a fast-paced fulfillment environment

  • Goal-oriented mindset with the ability to meet productivity expectations
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Prior warehouse, fulfillment, or PIT experience preferred
