Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated 5-lug Pit Coach. The ideal candidate would have experience in a pit coaching environment or 5-lug pit experience with the ability to manage, motivate, and lead others while working within an extremely fast paced environment. Position requires strong communication, flexible work schedule, the ability to travel and an excellent ability to implement and execute.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating pit crew practices. The Coach works to ensure a high level of training is achieved covering all aspects of fitness and performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting practice for pit crew members.
  • Provides training direction, encouragement, and motivation in order to prepare pit performers for race events.
  • Documents and updates individual and team goals.
  • Oversees all aspects of the pit crew, including growth and development pit performers.
  • Analyzes film footage from recent pit stop performances and produces detailed reports regarding improvement opportunities.
  • Scouts and recruits available high performance pit performers on an on-going basis.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience: 4 plus years of experience
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. Sports video editing systems such as DVSport
  • Certifications & Licenses: CPR and First Aid preferred
  • Other Requirements: Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact well with others is required. Outstanding ability to execute and implement is required in this position. Ability to plan ahead and demonstrated problem solving skills are necessary. Must be a team player, have an ability to inspire others, and have a high level of integrity. Extensive knowledge in nutrition, coaching and physical training. Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed.
