Job description

Title:

Piping Stress Engineer

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is looking for an Principal Technical Professional - Piping. Under general supervision, the incumbent independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for design, specification and services related to piping systems and piping layout including piping material selection, piping material line classes, standard and specialty piping components, pressure, weight and thermal analysis of piping systems, vibration analysis and piping support systems.

  • Execute pipe stress analysis

  • Procure specialty piping items and performing quality checks on construction deliverables

  • Must be able to multi-task and work on several small projects at the same time

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

    • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Piping Engineering

    • Minimum of 7+ years related experience

    • Capable of doing pipe stress analysis utilizing CAESAR II software or equivalent

    • Familiar with Navisworks for viewing 3D models

    • Capable of procuring specialty Piping items

    • Familiar with international codes and standards including ASME B31.3, ASTM, ANSI and PIP
