Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, manually loads and unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, flatbeds, or lifting devices. Reporting to Production Supervisor.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily yard operations rigging

  • Rigger (using hand signals, run chain through shipping spools, tie chains to shackles, guide the forklift operators)

  • Load and off-load trucks.

  • Ensure all products have proper identification.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization around the yard.

  • Move controls to operate powdered trucks, and transport material between loading, processing, and storage areas.

  • Move levers and controls to operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, spreader bar and swivel hooks, hoist, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.

  • Position lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, fiber glass pipe & tanks, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.

  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles. Fuel equipment with proper fuel.

  • Update management regularly on any safety or equipment issues.

  • Follow all safety procedures during all crane operations.

  • Perform safety inspection of crane daily prior to use.

  • Comply with all NOV Company, HSE and Quality policies, guidelines and procedures.

  • Safely operate up to 80-ton mobile all-terrain Crane.

  • Operate big forklift

  • Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety, and environmental requirements.

  • Ensure area processes are compliant with the Quality Management System; work in accordance with QA team to improve processes throughout departments as required or viewed necessary. Ensure team is participating and submitting non-conformances to QA in a timely manner. Work towards continuous improvement.

  • Able to perform basic rigging functions.

  • Wear appropriate PPE

  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • NCCCO Certified Crane Operator is preferred, however passing the test is required .

  • Three years of verifiable work history

  • 1 year's minimum experience operating a crane.

  • Knowledge and experience level to perform all Rigger job duties.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts; overtime, weekends and holidays as required.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, make repetitive movements up to 12 hours daily.

  • Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs. regularly.

  • Ability to lift, pull and manage heavy equipment and objects.

  • Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat.

  • While operating the Crane, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hand--to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; talk or hear.

  • Required vision abilities include close, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Travel less than 10%

  • Ability to read drawings, instructions or repair and assembly operations
