Job description

Position Summary:
The Pipe Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of the underground utility crew to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, hands-on pipe experience, and the ability to manage both people and production on active job sites.Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a crew installing storm drain, sanitary sewer, and water main systems.
  • Ensure work complies with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, cut sheets, and utility plans.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and manpower to maintain production schedules.
  • Set up grade lasers, check elevations, and confirm line and grade accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, and other field personnel.
  • Train and mentor crew members to promote safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, time sheets, and equipment logs.
  • Enforce company safety policies and participate in daily safety meetings.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in underground utility installation (storm, sewer, water).
  • 2+ years of foreman or crew lead experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and pipe cut sheets.
  • Strong understanding of pipe laser setup, trench safety, and utility installation methods.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various conditions and perform physical tasks as needed.
