We value safety, quality, and teamwork. We are hiring skilled Fabrication Fitters to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated pipe and associated components (flanges, elbows, couplings, etc.). As a Fabrication Fitter-Welder at our manufacturing and fabrication facility, you will prepare, assemble, and fit large diameter pipe and components to print and specification. The role requires precise layout, mechanical fitting, welding, and collaboration with inspectors, and production leads to ensure parts meet quality, dimensional, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret fabrication prints, isometric drawings, and weld procedures.
  • Lay out and mark pipe, fittings, and flanges for cutting, beveling, and welding.
  • Fit and tack large diameter pipe components such as flanges, elbows, reducers, couplings, and related components to specified tolerances.
  • Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape, squares, levels, protractors) to verify dimensions and alignment.
  • Perform quality checks and collaborate with welders/inspectors to ensure weld preparation and final welds meet standards.
  • Operate saws, beveling machines, grinders, torque tools, and basic fabrication equipment safely.
  • Clean, prepare, and apply temporary protection to parts as required.
  • Maintain accurate work records (travel, material use, fabrication logs) as directed.
  • Follow all safety policies, wear required PPE, and participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Assist with material handling, rigging, and staging of pipe and pipe related components for welding and transport.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 2โ€“5 years' experience as a fit-up/fabrication fitter in pipe fabrication or heavy industrial environment.
  • Proficient in reading fabrication prints, isometrics, and welding symbols.
  • Strong measuring and layout skills; ability to hold tight tolerances.
  • Experience with pipe fitting for flanges, elbows, couplings, and spool assembly.
  • Familiarity with welding processes and weld preparation- certification not required but a plus.
  • Comfortable using grinders, bevelers, band saws, and hand/power tools.
  • Ability to work from scaffolding or elevated platforms and perform moderate physical labor.
  • Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to work in a team.
  • Must follow safety protocols; OSHA 10/30 preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime and shift schedules as required.

Preferred

  • Pipefitter or boilermaker background.
  • Welding certifications (e.g., AWS) or experience collaborating closely with certified welders.
  • Experience with large-diameter pipe and heavy flange alignment.
