Pip Printing information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a printing press operator?

To thrive as a Printing Press Operator, you need a solid understanding of printing processes, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training often preferred. Experience with digital and offset printing presses, prepress software, and quality control systems is commonly required. Strong problem-solving skills, time management, and effective communication help operators excel in fast-paced environments. These skills are vital to ensure accurate production, minimize errors, and deliver high-quality printed materials to clients on time.

What is pip printing?

Pip Printing refers to a chain of print and business service centers, now known as PIP Marketing, Signs, Print. They provide a wide range of printing services, including business cards, brochures, signs, and marketing materials, as well as design and mailing services. Pip Printing centers cater primarily to small and medium-sized businesses, offering personalized customer service and quick turnaround on projects. Over the years, they have evolved with technology to provide both traditional and digital printing solutions.

What is the difference between Pip Printing vs Print Production Specialist?

AspectPip PrintingPrint Production Specialist

Work EnvironmentPrint shops, commercial printing facilitiesPrinting companies, advertising agencies, in-house print departments
Industry UsageCommonly used in retail and local print shopsUsed across advertising, marketing, and publishing industries

Both Pip Printing and Print Production Specialists work in printing environments, handling the production of printed materials. While Pip Printing typically refers to a franchise or retail print shop role, Print Production Specialists often have broader responsibilities in commercial printing and related industries. The main differences lie in the scope of work and industry application, but both roles require knowledge of printing processes and customer service skills.

What are some common challenges faced by employees working at a pip printing location, and how can they be addressed?

Employees at Pip Printing locations often manage tight deadlines and juggle multiple print orders simultaneously, which can be challenging when clients request last-minute changes or complex customizations. Effective communication with both customers and team members is essential to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality output. Developing strong organizational skills and familiarity with printing technology can help staff address these challenges efficiently. Additionally, being proactive in problem-solving and open to ongoing learning can make day-to-day tasks more manageable and rewarding.

Job description

General Production Associate

Join Our Team at PIP Printing!

Are you someone who enjoys staying busy, working with your hands, and learning new skills? We're looking for a dependable, hardworking individual who wants to build a career in the printing industry. No print experience? No problem. We're looking for the right attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.

You'll begin as a Production Associate, working alongside experienced team members to learn our production process. As you grow, you'll receive hands-on training from bindery professionals with decades of experience and ultimately become a key member of our bindery team.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with a variety of production and finishing tasks.
  • Learn how to operate print finishing and bindery equipment.
  • Package, organize, and prepare customer orders for delivery or pickup.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work with the production team to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time.
  • Help wherever needed to keep production moving efficiently.
What We're Looking For
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Eager to learn new skills and take on challenges.
  • Comfortable performing manual, hands-on work throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift materials and move throughout the production area.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Team player who enjoys working in a relatively fast-paced environment.
What We Offer
  • Paid, hands-on training—no print industry experience required.
  • Mentorship from experienced bindery operators with decades of industry knowledge.
  • Opportunities to grow into a skilled Bindery Operator.
  • A supportive, family-oriented team environment.
  • The chance to learn a trade that's always in demand.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Quarterly Bonus (must qualify each quarter)
  • Health, dental, and supplemental insurance available

Why Join Our Team?

You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside two veteran Bindery Operators with 40+ years of experience each who are passionate about sharing their knowledge. They are excited to teach a new team member the skills, techniques, and “tricks of the trade” that can only be learned through decades of hands-on experience in the printing industry. We are an established and respected leader in the printing and visual communications industry. We value teamwork, customer service, and continuous learning. If you're looking for a career where you can develop new skills, help customers succeed, and make a meaningful impact every day, we'd love to meet you.
