Our product and service range includes chassis technologies such as steering and damper systems and the assembly of axle systems as well as powertrain components for conventional and alternative engines. We also develop assembly systems for body-in-white construction and produce lightweight car body components in series.

thyssenkrupp Presta North America is a global leader in automotive components technology and the leading steering systems supplier for the automotive industry. thyssenkrupp Presta North America provides the industry with high-quality manual and electric steering columns, rack and pinion steering gears, and electric power assisted steering gears. thyssenkrupp Presta North America is part of the thyssenkrupp Presta AG group, headquartered in Eschen, Liechtenstein. In 2003, our manufacturing facility was established in the South Industrial Park of Terre Haute, Indiana. Beginning with just one assembly line, a handful of employees and 58,000 square feet, the company has grown to over 450 employees and 224,000 square feet. In addition, we have an office on northeast side of Indianapolis where the Procurement and Supplier Development Department, Business Development and Product Engineering are now located. We have a third location in Troy, Michigan which houses our Sales Engineering, Logistics Distribution Center for USA, and Customer Resident Engineering.

Overall responsibility for tracking and maintaining overall profit targets for assigned projects. Responsible for a range of column, shaft, and gear systems.. Plans and maintains an overview of the market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Leads commercially assigned customer projects throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • Lead/driver of the acquisition team (new sourcing) and commercial lead for change management
  • Responsible for setting up and initiation of a profitability increase plan in alignment with CBUM (proactive approach)
    • For the assigned customer projects
    • Definition and execution of countermeasures if “off-track” together with CBUM
    • Challenger of the cost structure
  • Maintain and strengthen customer network in cooperation with KAM.
  • Responsible for the creation/presentation/negotiation of quotations for new projects and changes in alignment with CBUM, GPM, and KAM
  • Responsible for accurate volume and sales price planning for assigned customer projects
  • Responsible for accuracy and regular maintenance of sales master data (BeeCore, CRM…)
  • Generates inputs for pre-development activities (gap2business)
  • Active participation in Best Practice Sharing within the sales organization
  • Commercial monitoring in order to meet commercial targets and/or define actions of assigned customer projects throughout the whole project lifecycle
  • Achieving the set growth and profitability targets of the assigned customer projects
  • Implementation of the optimal decisions for tkS, on a BU level, in the product management of the customer group Definition and implementation of project-independent measures to secure profitability targets
  • Leading efficient change management, best use of opportunities to increase profitability
  • Strong knowledge of customer and internal sales processes, commercial topics, and automotive industry trends, including cost structures, markets, and strategy.
  • Broad technical understanding of the product portfolio and value chain; project management experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in analytical thinking, planning, negotiating, and working effectively across cultures and teams.
  • Able to perform under pressure with flexibility and willingness to travel.
  • Excellent English skills (additional languages are a plus); collaborative team player.

Salary Range for role: 105-115k

BS or master’s degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration. Advanced Engineering Degree a plus. Additional experience or education in business administration is a plus. Long-term experience in the automotive sector, especially in sales and strategic matters.
