Description

The Quality Assurance Specialist area of responsibility will be determined by the Assistant Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Assurance Manager. 

Be knowledgeable of and follow all work instructions and procedures which pertain to the areas of responsibility. 

This position will champion all activities relating to improving and/or implementing FIA's Quality Management System (QMS).  This will include auditing and interpreting rules and procedures related to Futaba Global Standards and ISO/IATF procedures and standards from within FIA.    

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 Management systems 
  • Knowledge of Futaba Global Standards (FGS), Futaba Quality Rules (FQ-R) and FIA internal procedures and standards 
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams to implement and improve procedures in order meet ISO/IATF standards 
  • Perform internal audits as directed and implement corrective and preventative actions for items that are not compliant. 
  • Attend all meetings/conference calls as directed by the Quality Manager or Assistant Quality Assurance Manager. 
  • Implement, manage and train others in Document Control methods & systems  
  • Must have proficient oral and written communication skills. 
  • Must be willing to take the initiative on new projects. 
  • Must be able to work the company's required overtime. 
  • Must comply with FIA's Attendance Policy. 
  • Must maintain proper 5S within work area. 

Requirements

  • Five years of minimum manufacturing experience required.   
  • Solid understanding of FIA's processes, procedures, and policies 
  • Familiarity with Toyota Production System (TPS) 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Work is performed in both an office and production environment and the individual must be able to wear required Personal Protect9ive Equipment (PPE) when on the production floor, which includes head protection, hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, sleeves, steel-toe safety shoes, and a high visibility vest.  
  • Must be able to use a variety of tools and equipment such as computer terminal for data input, copy machine, calculator and any other equipment related to functional area.  
  • Noise Levels: Moderate Noise

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 27 pounds. 
  • Physical Sight - Able to read and analyze data in hard copy and on a computer screen. 
  • Verbal & Written Communications - Able to efficiently present complex matters to audience with little technical knowledge and to executive management. 
  • Telephone Communications - Able to communicate verbally using a telephone. 
  • Multitasking - Able to manage multiple work projects simultaneously.  
  • Occasionally travels by automotive and or plane
