Job description

Experienced Picture Framer / Designer

Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, responsible, and creative individual with excellent customer service skills who enjoys working with their hands and small tools. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.

At The Frame & Art Shop, we take pride in delivering creative picture framing designs, friendly customer service, and outstanding craftsmanship. Established in 1983, our gallery showroom features two spacious design counters where we collaborate with customers, along with a fully equipped custom framing workshop with multiple workstations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete custom framing orders with a high level of craftsmanship, accuracy, and timeliness

  • Design and consult with customers on artwork framing selections- including mats, frames, and glazing options

  • Provide excellent customer service, including greeting walk-ins, answering phone and responding to text

  • Receive shipments, unpack and inspect products, coordinate replacements for any issues, and verify invoices for accuracy

  • Help maintain and update shop displays and design samples, along with keeping the shop clean and organized

Qualifications

  • Framing experience preferred

  • Ability to operate framing equipment, including heat press and glass cutter

  • Basic computer skills (willingness to learn framing software)

  • Strong customer service experience

  • Basic math and measuring skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Frequent bending, lifting, and use of a step ladder

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy frames

  • Strong color recognition and attention to detail

Schedule

  • Part-time: 3–4 days per week

  • Must be available for 2 Saturdays per month
