Job description

Duties:
  • Provide musical accompaniment for Catholic Masses, liturgies, and special services.
  • Play piano or organ for congregational singing, choir performances, and other musical elements during worship.
  • Collaborate with the Catholic Music Director and Catholic Priest to select appropriate liturgical music.
  • Attend and participate in weekly choir rehearsals.
  • Accompany special liturgical celebrations, including Christmas, Easter, Holy Days of Obligation, weddings, and sacramental ceremonies.
  • Assist in maintaining a high standard of musical quality, ensuring a prayerful and reverent worship experience.
  • Prepare prelude, offertory, and postlude music that aligns with the liturgical calendar and Mass structure.
  • Comply with copyright laws when selecting and performing music.
  • Maintain the chapel’s musical instruments, ensuring proper care and usage.
Requirements:
  • Strong familiarity with Catholic liturgical music, traditions, and worship practices.
  • Proficiency in playing piano and/or organ, with the ability to sight-read, transpose, and develop musical accompaniment.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an accompanist in a Catholic church or similar setting.
