Position Overview
Ladgov Corporation is seeking a qualified Protestant Pianist to provide piano support for the Protestant Fellowship Chapel aboard Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina. The selected individual shall perform weekly worship services, Festival Days, and command-sponsored special services in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

  • Weekly Protestant Worship Service every Sunday at 9:00 AM
  • Festival Days as scheduled by the Command Chaplain
  • Weekly consultation and rehearsal (up to 3 hours per week)
  • Command-sponsored special services as scheduled by the Command Chaplain
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide piano support every Sunday and Festival Days, including accompaniment.
  • Perform and conduct weekly Protestant Worship every Sunday at 9:00 AM.
  • Perform and conduct Festival Day services at the Command Chaplain's scheduled time.
  • Consult weekly with the Protestant Chaplain or Staff Chaplain for:
    • Selection and performance of Protestant service music.
    • Coordination meetings with the Command Chaplain or Staff Chaplain.
      • Self-rehearsal of at least one hour per week.
    Provide piano accompaniment and musical support for command-sponsored special services and associated rehearsals, including:
    • Martin Luther King Jr. Remembrance
    • National Day of Prayer
    • Blessings of Nurses
    • Blessings of Animals
    • 9/11 Remembrance Service
    • Command Memorial
  • Provide a qualified musical substitute when unavailable for a regularly scheduled worship service and notify the Chaplain at least seven (7) days in advance.
  • Inform the Command Chaplain of any piano malfunction requiring service upon discovery.
  • Remain professionally current through personal study, training, conferences, workshops, and seminars at the contractor's own expense.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Have experience playing the piano or keyboard (performance experience preferred) and experience in leading worship, whether volunteer or paid.
  • Be able to read music from the Armed Forces Hymnal and Liturgical resources.
  • Demonstrate competence through an audition with the Command Chaplain.
  • Obtain a contractor badge within five (5) working days of contract award and display the badge while performing duties.
  • Attend an orientation brief provided by the Memorial Chapel staff.
  • Be fully qualified to perform the required services without supervision or direction by Government personnel.
